The Angel of My Domain Blogs

Image
For a newbie user of Wordpress like me, I could not continue using Wordpress without the help of my Angel. She is such a very kind and helpful person. Although I think she did not noticed me before but Ive seen and noticed her way back a long time ago when we were still young, skinny and sexy... lol! She used to go to our i-cafe together with her best friend who is also our family friend. One thing that we share something in common is we have the same faith that's why when I saw her again here in the blogging world, it was easy for me to get along with her. I became an avid follower and reader of her blogs. I even joined the Summer Swimsuit Give away before from her Pinay Mommy Online blog where I won a tictoc T-shirt and a butterfly mini-dress. I also joined her Free Domain Names May 2010 Give away and luckily I won. This is where my My Daily Notes blog was born. After a few months, I finally decided to self-host this blog to Wordpress with the help of course of my Mommy Angel.

Hidden Gold Treasures in The Philippines, Does it Still Exist?

Image
(I was looking for some paid opps today when I saw a task that talks about buying gold online. Then the word "gold" suddenly pops up in my mind, so here I am sharing my nostalgic story of my uncle's "Indiana Jones"este treasure hunting experience) ^_^ Did you know that until today there are still many people who are digging out looking for the hidden gold treasures which was said to be found here in the remote areas and mountainous place in the island of Mindanao? Two of our common friend are actually involved in finding and digging gold treasures right now. We may not know it, but there are literally billions of gold, statues and other Asian looted treasures buried in hundreds of secret locations all throughout the country. My family and relatives was actually involved on that digging and treasure hunting thingy before. I remember way back during my childhood days, when my uncle who is a treasure hunter used to live with us, I learned a lot from him about  a

Our Wedding Gowns

Image
It's Nostalgic Thursday once again and today, I am reminiscing back those beautiful memories and one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life is our wedding day and speaking of wedding, I think all the people are excited to see the lovely bride walking down the aisle wearing a beautiful wedding gown. Truly it is stunning to see a beautiful woman appear in an elegant white wedding gown, right? Me on my simple elegant wedding gown  (5 years ago) My cousin Allen on her beautiful wedding gown (a year ago) A sexy and gorgeous wedding gown of my cousin Jhoanne on her wedding  (a month ago) I actually like my wedding gown  that looks like a princess similar on  my cousin Allen's wedding gown (2nd photo) but too bad that kind of style was not available at the gown rental shop where we rented our dresses for the whole entourage. Well, it doesn't matter for me anymore since at that time we also don't have an extra budget to buy or make an exclusively sewed wedding g

When I Sang in Front of Many People

Image
It's time to share our Nostalgic moments here in Nostalgia and this time I want to share my experience when I sang in front of many people. Way back in my high school days, I used to be a dancer and choreographer of our modern dance group in school. I was never a singer. Though I know how to sing but I prefer dancing since this is my favorite hobby. But when I got married and became a Christian, I was enticed to develop my talent in singing because I just love to sing all those Christian songs that inspires me a lot. Since then, I used to be the back up singer and eventually became the worship leader or the vocalist of our music team in our church. We also used to fellowship with other churches where me and my fellow band mates will play and have a presentation number and specially when we do the 30 minutes to 1 hour non-stop praise and worship service. Every time we were invited to perform on stage, I still have that butterflies in my stomach where I also get nervous and has a s

Nostalgia # 8 - My True to Life Story about Aswang / Manananggal

Image
What we know is,  The aswang or manananggal is a vampire from the Filipino lore. It is just a head with no body and organs trailing behind. It also has bat-like wings, giving it the ability to fly. By day this vampire is either a man or woman who is usually a repectible member in the community or even a close family member. By night they fly around with small birds, which help the aswang / manananggal locate prey. They feed on human flesh, organs, blood, and even mucus. Their favorite is a fetus or newborn. They are equipped with a long tongue ideal for sucking fetuses out of the womb. If you are pregnant and want to protect yourself, the best way is to wear a necklace made out of bullets and by smearing coal dust on your stomach. Now, here's my true to life story that I could not forget when I was 7 months pregnant.  As you can see from the photo above, we used to live in that house where we rented it for a few months. It's near the hillside and it is surrounded with fruit

Nostalgia # 7 - An Inspiring Life Story of my Sister-in-Law

Image
For this week , I want to share to you this inspiring life story of my sister in law since she also serves as my inspiration and she helped me a lot in many ways specially in strengthening my spiritual life. I remember how hard her life was way back when she was a single mother of her  four kids. She used to work as a clerk in the city hall but her salary was not enough to feed her kids and let some of them go to school. She used to chat online almost everyday and she did that for almost 2 years. She was striving hard to find the right man for her and finally, by God's grace, she had able to find her God's will. After a few months of their online dating,  Allen (her husband) and Ate Connie decided to get married here. I was the maid of honor while my hubby was the best man of their wedding. I could really feel how happy she was when she finally found someone who really loves her for who she is and the best thing also is that Allen accept her kids and treat them as his real

Nostalgia # 6 - Our Funny Wedding

Image
It was such a beautiful thing to remember those wonderful memories we had specially on our wedding 5 years ago. It is not only memorable but its actually a funny wedding experience.  Our wedding ceremony and reception was held in a hotel because it is a Christian wedding wherein the officiating minister is a Pastor. That is the shoes I suppose to wear but my feet is aching on this high heeled shoes so I just prefer to wear my black wedge shoes instead of the wedding shoes. LOL! They did not noticed it by the way since my wedding gown is too long. After my make up and make over, Me and my make up artist went out from my hotel room and we ride on an elevator because we are the 2nd floor and the wedding place is at the 5th floor. My make up artist pressed the 4th floor instead of 5th floor, when the door opens she immediately went out while I was left because I find it hard to walk with my long gown. And due to my excitement, I accidentally pressed the 1st floor instead of 5th floor.

Nostalgia # 5 - Remembering our Old House

Image
This is actually my in laws old house and every time I see this house, it reminds me of our old house way back when I was kid. We used to live in a squatters area and our house is like this and its full of "tagpi-tagpi"  where it has some "sin or shin" roof (that's what we call in our dialect), some bamboo or "kawayan" and "tabla" which serves as our floor. Our old house wall is made up of amacan too and its really cold specially in the evening since the air will just passed through the many holes in it and our house was also surrounded with lots of fruit trees. I actually missed this kind of dirty kitchen too where I used to cook rice and some viand.  I could still remember I used to get some woods in the forest and every where so I can have some firewood. My grandmother also wants me to clean this dirty "kaldero"  and "kalha" at the river and she wants it to become white and clean. If she still see that its not cle

Nostalgia # 4 - Family Resemblance

Image
It's another fun and exciting Nostalgic Memories we share here in Nostalgia and this is my entry for this week.  As I had already shared some of our photos here in blogosphere together with my family, I know many of my mommy friends said we have the same family resemblance, in short, we have the same faces.  I totally agree with that since most people say that we really had the same faces specially when we go out together. And it all started with the roots, who is my Mom. ^_^ I had compiled some of our old and new photos together and here it is...  This is our latest photos together with my mom and sis That's my younger sister and My mom on the left and my younger brother with my mom. They are both my half sister and brother. They're Half Swiss and Half Filipino.  That's me and my Mom and Me with my daughter  The Three of them. My sister, Mom and my daughter. Did you also noticed the smile of my daughter and sister?  Can you see the resemblance even to my d

Nostalgia # 3 - When We Traveled for the First Time

Image
It's another memorable experience and stories that we want to share to everybody and for this week's Nostalgia, I am sharing our experience when we traveled for the first time. I remember way back 3 years ago where me and hubby traveled for the 1st time in Manila and its our 1st time to ride in an airplane too. It was indeed a memorable experience for us. We traveled to Manila to meet my mom there. She works in Switzerland and decided to have a 1 month vacation here in the Philippines. We usually meet her either in Cebu City or here in Cagayan de Oro. But at that time, she also wants us to see what Manila looks like that's why we went there. I was 5 months pregnant at that time but my tummy is not so big that's why I don't have problems on it. Our first travel was sailing on ship with Superferry when we first arrive in Manila. It took around 2 days to finally reached Manila but it was fun since we met some new friends on board and we enjoyed the fac

Nostalgia # 2 - My Mom's Ex Husband

Image
Thanks again Mommy Rose for inviting me to join your lovely and meaningful meme. This really reminds me of the good things and bad things in the past. Well, speaking of the past, in case you are wondering and curious about the title of my post, this is my story of my Mom's Ex husband named Patric. My mom was actually married 4 times. I am the eldest and I am the only one on her 1st marriage, I have a younger brother on her 2nd marriage and I also have 2 siblings on her 3rd marriage. But with Patric on his last marriage, they had no children. I first met and knew him when they had a holiday here in the Philippines and they attended my High School graduation.  He is such a good person and he treats me well as if his own daughter. And since I did not grew up having a father, I also treated him as real father. He is actually the one who supported me financially in pursuing my college degree .  And even on my wedding day, he really wants to be the proud father of the bride. He
